SoutronTHESAURUS

Even in a single language, one word can have multiple (and mis-) spellings, grammatical variations and many different meanings, while many terms can be used to mean the same thing.

Add in multiple languages and the task of ensuring that users can easily find the material they need, or contribute to social knowledge networks, becomes incredibly complex.

That's why we designed SoutronTHESAURUS to support librarians, knowledge and information managers responsible for managing terminology, indexes and the relationships between terms.

The system addresses the challenge of inconsistent content or data converted from multiple sources, and can help to regulate vocabulary and minimise the occurrence of outmoded or discredited terms in corporate communications.

Available as a standalone system, fully integrated with SoutronGLOBAL or SoutronSOLO library management systems or alongside third party solutions and applications including Inmagic Presto.

Key Features

Create a Mono- or Multi-Lingual Single THESAURUS or Multiple Thesauri

For comprehensive search results and minimal fragmentation. Early adopters of this system are all multi-lingual organisations for whom the ability to search on one language and have terms and results delivered in another is invaluable.

Term Relationships

This feature allows managers to specify the preferred term, as well as terms which are not/no longer to be used to control corporate vocabulary. It also enables users to include terms to deliver broader or narrower search results and make use of other suggested terms to help locate related material.

Hierarchical, Flat and A-Z Views and Poly-Hierarchical Thesauri

Organise and control vocabulary in the way which delivers the best possible results for your library users.

Scope Notes

Include information which will help to clarify ambiguous or less familiar terms.

Authenticated User Roles
