We are a supplier of automated systems to special and corporate libraries and archives, worldwide.
Graham Beastall has worked in this sector supplying systems continuously since 1985. Graham Partridge first started working in libraries in 1985. So we have some depth of knowledge to share and we can demonstrate our ability to apply it to many libraries since then in the testimonials we have assembled.
Not all clients like to announce to the world what they do and so some of our really exciting and ground breaking projects are not included in here.
If you want to know more please call us since the approach we take to automating systems is only really revealed when you can meet the people who you will work with.

Field Law wanted to move to a cloud-based, integrated library system to manage the workflow of a multi-office, multi-librarian, regional law firm library. We wanted a system that would be easy for lawyers to use. Lawyers and librarians can now do enhanced resource searches that help them quickly pinpoint the tools they need to begin client research projects. Library staff can more efficiently manage the dynamic life cycle and cost of subscriptions across multiple offices. Using technology to streamline our processes is part of Field Law’s ongoing commitment to provide efficient and effective service to our clients.
Soutron fit our requirements and their migration team was supportive and great to work with. We are very pleased with our new library catalogue and portal.
The look and functionality of Soutron was very impressive and user-friendly. Some of us have used Soutron Library & Information Systems and were very happy with it. We look forward to working with Soutron Global’s friendly Team!!!
Sound Transit is pleased to have Soutron as our new ILS vendor. We chose Soutron because of your high-quality product and presentation, competitive pricing, and software dedicated to improving the overall library experience for patrons.
We have also been very pleased with the Soutron staff we have been working with in preparation for our ILS migration.
I’d like to take this opportunity to express what a joy it is to work with Fred Wiese as the primary contact for our organization. He frequently goes above and beyond what can be expected from the role that he is performing. He not only has a very thorough understanding [of] Soutron’s role in our organization, but he is willing to share what he knows in ways that make my job easier. When I reach out for support or with questions he is very easy to communicate with, quick to respond and thorough in his responses.
He is patient with my questions and - I can’t stress this enough - explains things when they need to be explained in ways that allow me and our organization as a whole to make decisions and act quickly when problems arise. I don’t know if we are just extraordinarily lucky to have our questions filtered through a single contact, or if this is the Soutron model, but knowing that when I log a ticket Fred will be responding removes some panic when issues with Soutron do crop up.
We’ve been having a summer of [newly outsourced] IT issues and interactions with Fred has been a bright spot.
The National Sporting Library & Museum selected Soutron for its database needs primarily because of the flexibility in its feature set. We are looking forward to working with Soutron as we unify our Library data and our Museum data, providing our audience with the ability to research sporting authors and sporting art in one place.
Everything is going great – Your company is awesome!
Gary at Soutron has been most approachable, clearly understandable, very thorough, definitely intelligent in his approach to our needs, quite comprehensive in his presentation; and his handling of the materials representing our collections which have been well thought through.
I commend him highly as being affable, smart, easy to work with, and a real artist in the graphic screen displays that I have seen. He also understands very well the problems of librarians and archivists and knows how to talk to us! I greatly appreciate the pains he has gone to for this institution's possible prospective collaboration with Soutron, and I hope very much to get to work with him on a project.
A HUGE thanks for the work that you and Craig have done on the new iKnow – we are really happy with how the API works, speed of access, etc.
Craig and team did a fantastic job!
The project is moving forward as planned which is great. Craig and the team have done an excellent job and provide great support.
The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property
Thank you so much for all your efforts Craig! Catherine and I have just been saying how wonderful it is to work with a company that truly cares about the quality of its services!
We were keen to seek a new and cloud based library management product and selected Soutron to provide such a solution. With all the functions we needed, loans, online catalogue and a search portal for end users, it was a perfect match for our library.
We find it very easy to use and love how we can add extra fields to the catalogue. It really helps us and our users search the library catalogue with ease and Soutron provide us with very helpful support too.
Soutron were selected, after a public procurement process, to provide the new library management solution at the Law Reform Commission as it was felt you demonstrated a key understanding of the special library sector and could respond to the developing needs of the sector – and us in particular! - in an agile and effective matter.
You addressed all of the features and functionality specified in the government procurement process, but more importantly you also demonstrated a commitment to provide a flexible and customised solution. In particular we liked the fact you were able to provide multiple portals designed to match the requirements of our different user groups.
We needed an archive solution to work in conjunction with our present Learning Management System. Our project has a variety of information centres to satisfy and Soutron’s archive and database solution offered all the flexibility to manage both physical and digital assets.
I must say that it is a pleasure working with this new tool. Especially now that I work with two screens. That allows me to have the database open and available all day long… but I wanted to add that the human side of our working relationship with Graham and the rest of the Soutron team is absolutely fantastic.
Hello Graham, Craig, Lewis, et al,
A big thank you to Craig & Lewis for their help & patience.
The Search Portal is getting positive feedback already, after the introduction of the EBSCO widget. It's been helped by our own Windows 10 & o365 project that has placed our Library icon on all the desktops across the OUP devices. (Previously only on UK builds) I've had a query already from the US. It'll be interesting to see what the stats are like at the end of the month. As we are pushing the Soutron portal over SharePoint now.
Been looking into the new submission area this morning it’s great! Really like the changes you’ve made & looking forward to seeing the full version!
I just wanted to say a huge thanks for all your hard work over the last year.
If ever there was a year to say thank you, this is it. We greatly appreciate your responsiveness in adapting to our new working conditions, and your effort in going above and beyond to help us get the catalogue in shape and off the ground.
Steve was so very helpful in responding to the list of changes I sent to him last week and I am now so pleased to have all the fields I so frustratingly lacked when I was cataloguing into our old RSAA system.
Now all I need to do is go back over 6000+ records and make all the changes! Once a Librarian always a Librarian!
Once again thanks for everything.
I just wanted to send a quick thank you note for all of your patience and hard work with all of our requests and issues over the last few months. It’s been so lovely working with you all since starting and I’m really looking forward to all of the new progress with Soutron in the future!
The Archive team definitely couldn’t have got here without you all!
Thanks to the cloud-based software all IT pressures are removed and I have immediate access to brilliant and very helpful support when I need it. Questions are answered within the hour or in many cases instantly, compared to several days of waiting from our previous LMS supplier.
Soutron makes my daily tasks more enjoyable and what is really nice, the students’ response to this new LMS has been very positive.
The helpdesk is so patient and willing with my queries, no matter how large or small, stellar support from the Soutron support team!
As a specialist national meteorological library and archive, we were attracted to Soutron because of their accessibility, flexibility and on-going plans for future system developments. Working alongside Soutron we are looking forward to offering our customers a modern, effective search and discovery tool for both our library and archive collections.
Integrating our library and the archives data into a single system without compromising the collection management functionality on either side was a priority.
With the development of Soutron’s Portal and the ability to display the hierarchical relationships of our archives, finally we are able to present our entire holdings to researchers in one go.
As existing customers it feels like we’ve had some rather bespoke attention for a very modest increase in our costs.
BIALL selected Soutron Library Management (LMS) software to allow us to better manage and leverage the collective knowledge of our Association. This includes current known knowledge items, committee minutes, PDFs of previous newsletters and other internal documents. Soutron LMS will allow us to reduce administrative time, save on data duplication and increase accessibility and monitoring of our internal knowledge.
Soutron’s flexible cloud based software and built in API will also allow integration with our website. This, along with their attentive support, will prove to be a fundamental and valued addition to the Association.
We selected Soutron for our new library management solution as you listened to our needs and we liked your approach to our future and current requirements. We needed to update our current software and we really found the ability to combine our archive and library, digital content into one single repository ideal. It perfectly provides a solution for our and our Members’ needs.
The ability to import and export content en masse and flexibly for our workflows and reporting needs is also very important to us as we are a small team. As we already used EndNote® for collecting publication records, thanks to Soutron it now takes half the time it did previously to add them to the LMS. We can now bulk import various record types, article metadata, migrated ejournals and ebooks directly into the LMS.
As a modestly-resourced county historical society, we are very much looking forward to going live with SoutronSolo very soon. It promises to be a splendid vehicle and solution to help promote our library and growing collection of research materials to those with an interest in the architecture, archaeology and history of St. Albans and Hertfordshire.
St Albans & Hertfordshire Architectural & Archaeological Society
We were looking for a smaller version of our existing Adlib software which we were stuck with on a local server. We wanted software that would provide us with a simplified straightforward archive and library solution. We selected Soutron as the whole product offered fits our needs, budget and we really liked your approach to things. Integration with our website was also important and as a cloud based software we are rest assured you will be maintaining this, so we don’t have to!
Our previous library software really never did what we wanted it to do for us, it wasn’t that easy to use and with support at the time moving to the USA we decided to move over to Soutron.
We did look at other software vendors in the marketplace, but we liked the extended functionality Soutron offered within the library management software and it really just ticked all the boxes for us.
We have maintained a Library database at Ricardo for many years, and in 2012 we decided to move to the Soutron Library Management System as we already knew and trusted Soutron, who were able to provide a clear roadmap and future development of their own software.
Today we are preparing for a re-launch using the new portal, and look forward to the benefits this will bring for both our internal users and external client subscribers.
Although we are an international organisation the needs of our library are relatively modest. The host of customisable features within the administration area, the improved functionality for end-users and the whole look and feel of the Soutron software gave us exactly what we required from a modern Library Management System.
The communications we receive and the support from the help desk is simply outstanding.
We chose Soutron because they were the only supplier, who bid for our business that were genuinely willing to help develop an LMS solution that was really tailored to our specific needs
Compared to other LMS suppliers Soutron provided the perfect solution for a corporate library.
Our staff are constantly on the go delivering programmes in various Commonwealth countries, a web based system really supports accessibility from whichever country they find themselves in. Ease of use and intuitiveness are big drivers; the system has to be straightforward because users want simple interfaces with simple search boxes that do a lot behind the scenes. Soutron continues to help us deliver our vision.
We selected Soutron for our new library management solution as you were able to provide us with a cost effective solution that suited our specific needs, especially as a smaller library. This, along with your excellent customer centric approach and initial demonstration of the system, made Soutron stand out as a supplier of choice for us.
We decided to go with Soutron for our new library and archive management solution, as your software fits very well with the current and future needs of the society library, it’s advanced features within the system and it offered us great value for money. Our historic transaction records have already been digitised and are accessible online, and we look forward to expanding our digitisation programme to other areas and including all in the archive so it can be easily found and accessed remotely.
We fell out of love with our previous software supplier. The upgrades process was also putting a strain on our own IT department, but thanks to Soutron and their new Cloud Based solution we now have software that is taken care of for us, much to the joy of our own IT department. We also really like the simplicity of field editing and look forward to going live very soon!
Proud to be an example for the power of the @Soutron archival management system at today's user group meeting.
One of the best decisions we made @TheEES - to integrate our library and archive collections into one catalogue. We've been working with Soutron for a couple of years now and it's resulted in a fab new resource for Egyptology!
Having undertaken several system upgrades and changes in my career, I can honestly say this was the smoothest I have ever experienced
