A national religious archive holding over a century of publications, including The War Cry dating back to 1884, replaced outdated software with a Soutron solution that gives researchers worldwide full web access to its digitized collections.
The Salvation Army Archives Canada and Bermuda Territory needed to replace software that had stopped working and make the full text of its archival content available on the web.

The Salvation Army (www.salvationarmy.ca) has been in Toronto, Canada since 1882 and is part of the Salvation Army movement which is a branch of the evangelical Christian church.
Its message is based on the Bible; its ministry is motivated by love for God and a practical concern for the needs of humanity.
The Salvation Army Archives Canada and Bermuda Territory is committed to the proclamation of The Salvation Army’s message and to the fulfillment of its mission.
The Salvation Army Archives (www.salvationist.ca/archives-and-museum) are the official repository of all of the publications (mainly The War Cry) of The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory.
The Archives include printed, written, pictorial, audiovisual and other formatted records. The Archives staff liaises with Salvation Army heritage facilities in other territories as well as with outside archives and museums in regard to acquiring artifacts and archival records relating to the history of The Salvation Army in the Canada and Bermuda Territory.
Over two decades ago, parts of the archive were made available through software that was no longer working for the Salvation Army and researchers.

Site visitors can easily search for Salvation Army Canada content taking a walk back in time or view current issues to read about news, events and information in pdf or online format.
Searching can be done in a simple Google-like search box or with an advanced search interface for keyword, subject, date ranges or exact date.
Future plans include adding other Salvation Army periodicals and archival materials to Soutron Global to improve access for research purposes.
