Release of Soutron 4.2 Accelerates the Modernization of Soutron Administrative Workflow Sequences
This latest release of Soutron provides significant benefits to knowledge hub information managers, special librarians and corporate archivists, particularly in environments where efficiency, knowledge sharing, information governance, compliance and information access are of paramount importance.
“Soutron 4.2 provides significant time-saving improvements to search portal operations and administrative workflows, cutting clicks and simplifying management workflows. This is thanks to our collaborative relationship with our clients,” states Graham Partridge, Vice-President of Research & Development at Soutron Global. “My team has invested in incorporating streamlined technologies into Soutron, resulting in our clients’ abilities to better manage their collections more effectively, improve service delivery and support their users’ needs.”
With Soutron 4.2, it is now easier than ever to manage collections directly from both the search portal view and the administration modules, without having to jump between the two views to add records, select security categories, easily create child records and parts of records such as chapters and assign new metadata tags. Plus, staff can now bypass ISBN validation on import in addition to being able to display the record’s full creation and update history for auditing purposes.
Improvements to operation efficiencies and the end-user experience in version 4.2 include:
- Redesigned, modernized Self-issue portals
- All catalog record creation & updating functions migrated to modern interface
- Improved visitor behavior and usage reports
- Enhanced image zoom of benefit to archives
New optional functions include:
- PDF creation of stored record for archival purpose (basic and pro versions available)
- Improved Subscription management and automatic ejournal subscription check-in
