Many professional institutes, associations and organizations manage a variety of content (physical and/or electronic) and are seeking ways to generate income using eCommerce tools.
Soutron makes it easier for visitors to a web site to find materials and for content managers to link related materials. Content can be dynamically published through a conventional OPAC or into a website to increase income-generating opportunities.
A shopping basket allows a user or member to select items. Related items can suggest comparative items to purchase. A checkout function allows items to be purchased in a single transaction simply and quickly. The total cost is calculated according to the quantity of each item needed, the type of user e.g. student, corporate member etc. Any other rule based criteria for price calculation can be introduced and the price is calculated in a currency appropriate to the location of the user. The transaction is then seamlessly passed to PayPal™ for purchasing through a registered PayPal™ account and funds transferred to the organization’s bank account.
Soutron can integrate with a variety of fulfillment processes based on either physical dispatch or electronic downloads.
Soutron has developed this added functionality to integrate with their Soutron Library and Knowledge Management System that will be available to clients as an optional module for release in September 2012.
