Soutron Global Acquires Biblionix, Adding Apollo and Artemis to Its Growing Library, Archive and Digital Preservation Technology Platforms
Acquisition expands investment behind the Apollo and Artemis integrated library systems while giving smaller public libraries and K-12 schools access to a broader platform, including the SHAREit resource-sharing network
Soutron Global, a leading provider of library, archive, and knowledge management software, today announced it has acquired Biblionix, Inc., the Austin, Texas-based creator of Apollo, a cloud-native integrated library system (ILS) for smaller public libraries, and Artemis, a companion ILS for K-12 school libraries.
This milestone marks an important step in our journey to build the world’s most comprehensive and trusted library technology platform. Biblionix becomes the 3rd acquisition since 2024 joining MINISIS and Auto-Graphics. Together, the combined platform now services more than 7,000 US public libraries and supports libraries, archives, and museums across North America and around the world. More information is available at soutron.com.
For the librarians, staff, and communities who rely on these systems every day, the acquisition is designed to deliver more, not different: more product investment, more capabilities, and more support behind the tools they already trust.
WHAT THE ACQUISITION MEANS FOR BIBLIONIX CUSTOMERS
Apollo and Artemis have earned an exceptionally loyal following among smaller public libraries and school libraries, built on ease of use, transparent pricing, and a support team known for actually answering the phone. Soutron Global has committed to preserving exactly that.
- Continuity first. Nothing is changing about the Apollo and Artemis products or the Biblionix team customers know. Existing implementations, pricing models, and support relationships remain in place.
- Accelerated product development. As part of a larger, well-resourced platform, Apollo and Artemis gain the investment needed to accelerate the product innovation their customers have been asking for.
- Access to resource sharing at scale. Biblionix customers gain a path to adjacent capabilities from across the platform, most notably SHAREit, Auto-Graphics’ interlibrary loan (ILL) and resource-sharing network already serving more than 6,000 North American library systems. For smaller libraries, that means the ability to extend their collections far beyond their own shelves.
- A deeper support bench. Customers keep the responsive, personal service Biblionix is known for, now backed by the broader technical and product resources of a global organization.
“When Xan and I founded Biblionix, our goal was simple: give smaller public libraries the same caliber of technology the big systems enjoyed, without the complexity or the cost. Over two decades, Apollo has helped carry the library catalog from a back-office tool into a true engine of community connection, delivering ‘power to the publics’ and letting libraries realize their full potential through automation built just for them,” said Clark Charbonnet, co-founder of Biblionix. “Joining Soutron Global is the natural next chapter. Our customers gain the resources, product investment, and long-term stability, while keeping the personal service and purpose-built approach they’ve trusted Apollo and Artemis for. This is a win for our clients, our team, and the communities their libraries serve.”
WHAT THE ACQUISITION MEANS FOR SOUTRON GLOBAL CUSTOMERS
For libraries, archives, and museums already served by Soutron, Auto-Graphics, and MINISIS, the addition of Biblionix strengthens the platform they depend on.
- Enhanced public library coverage with no product overlap. Apollo ILS serves smaller public libraries while VERSO ILS serves both libraries and consortia, giving the platform purpose-built solutions across the public library market. Because the products are complementary rather than competing, no customer faces a forced migration.
- A larger resource-sharing community. Every library added to the platform expands the network of institutions that can participate in interlibrary loan and resource sharing, increasing the value of SHAREit for current participants.
- Shared innovation. Advances in cloud-native architecture, usability, and customer experience developed for one product line can inform the roadmap across the entire platform, from enterprise law firm libraries to rural public libraries to K-12 schools.
- Financial strength and staying power. The acquisition, Soutron Global’s third in two years following MINISIS (2024) and Auto-Graphics (2025), reflects sustained investment in the library technology market at a time when many institutions are seeking vendors with long-term stability.
ONE COMPANY. ONE PURPOSE. ONE FUTURE.
“Smaller public libraries are the heart of their communities, and they deserve technology that was built specifically for them,” said Brad Frasher, CEO of Soutron Global. “Apollo has earned extraordinary trust, and we are committed to building on that reputation while accelerating the product innovation their customers have been asking for. To Biblionix customers: the products you love aren’t going anywhere. What is changing is the investment behind them.”
Soutron Global now brings together purpose-built products for every type of library, archive, and museum:
- Public Libraries: SHAREit ILL resource sharing network, VERSO ILS and Apollo ILS for consortia and smaller libraries across the US
- K-12 Libraries: Artemis ILS for smaller schools across the US
- Special & Corporate Libraries: Soutron ILS for enterprise library and knowledge management with deep roots in the US, UK and international markets.
- Archive, Museum & Digital Preservation: CAMS and TDR for collection management and digital preservation of cultural heritage institutions and government agencies.
With Apollo for smaller libraries and VERSO for mid-size libraries and consortia, we now serve the full small to mid-size public-library market. Together with SHAREit ILL, we service over 7,000 US public libraries, as well as cultural and knowledge institutions worldwide.. That is not a small thing. It is a responsibility we take seriously — in every product decision, every support call, and every roadmap conversation. Thank you to the Biblionix team, and to every Soutron Global customer across all four brands. Onward.
