The summer months arrive and once again so does the opportunity to catch-up and meet with our friends at the British and Irish Association of Law Librarians, annual BIALL Conference.
For this year’s event, a short hop across the Irish Sea to the historic city of Belfast for the Soutron UK Team, Michael, Graham and Paul, to attend and showcase the very latest updates and enhancements in Soutron Legal Library Management.
As always; a great conference, very well executed, at an amazing location right in the heart of Belfast, at the Europa Hotel. Not only a chance to catch-up with friends and colleagues, some of whom we haven’t had the opportunity to meet with in person since before the Covid pandemic. But also, a chance to meet new clients who have joined the Soutron family recently, say hello and discuss their ideas for the future of the library service within the firm.
Go Beyond Library with fast, flexible and secure information access for lawyers
Graham Partridge, our very own resident legal librarian and VP of Research and Development, provided an insight into the latest updates to Soutron software. Graham’s vision ‘for one legal taxonomy’ thanks to our recently re-engineered poly-hierarchical thesaurus, is now available with API access permitting library teams to share and integrate this with other applications used across the firm.
Graham showed how it is entirely possible to integrate with 3rd parties & expand your library, pushing live feeds into branded search portals for your firm. Integration with the likes of iManage, SharePoint, Legal Search Connect and others.
He also introduced how quickly and effectively you can now manage end user document submissions, capture know how, articles, deeds within the application. Along with the ability to automate an entire review system in Soutron, passing a document, article, report between peers and finally back to the library team for acceptance within the catalog.
“We are always seeking ways to save our clients time and introduce even more efficient workflows to daily tasks” says Graham. “Our clients are at the heart of everything we do and the ideas they provide are built into the roadmap of future development of our application. It was great to meet everyone again at BIALL and we are already looking forward to next year’s event.”
With all of the highly informative sessions and talks, you maybe didn’t get a chance to drop by and say hello, if not, you can always get in touch with us at any time and book an online call. We would be very happy to provide an online introduction to Soutron and listen to your requirements and needs for the future library automation within your firm.
Conference Raffle
Raffle time, on the last day of the conference, is always a great way to end the show and this year’s Soutron winner was Ann-Christin Karlén Gramming, Librarian and Information Specialist at Vinge in Sweden. We hope those lovely chocolates made it home, it was great to meet with you at the event.
To everyone who attended, thank you once again for your continued support in all that we do and we very much look forward to seeing you in 2024 at the very next BIALL Conference in the wonderful city of culture, Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Best wishes from Michael, Graham, Paul and all at Soutron Global.
