College of Occupational Therapists Upgrades from InMagic® to Soutron

The NICE-accredited College Demands the Best in Order to Meet High Industry Standards

San Diego, CA

International library transformation company Soutron Global announces that The College of Occupational Therapists (COT) have chosen to upgrade their library management software from Inmagic to Soutron in order to provide the highest level of service possible to their professional members and students.

The College sets the professional and educational standards for the occupational therapy profession and represents the profession at both national and international levels. It is, therefore, essential that their library needs are superbly catered for, so that the service they supply to their members upholds the standards which the COT is known for. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) accredited college, based in London, England, selected Soutron due to the high level of guidance and support the global Soutron team provided.

“The high level of guidance and support provided by Soutron convinced us that selecting them as our library and information access solution would ensure our members had the right information at the right time, thus ensuring that a high quality of care is delivered by our members,” states Anne Jenkins, COT Library Librarian. “The leadership provided during our implementation by our Soutron Project Manager has been robust and has exceeded our expectations in that their instruction has gone beyond that of simply performing a basic data transfer and training session. We consider Soutron to be a true partner in our information delivery, which will result in increased library visibility.”

Soutron’s state-of-the-art software will give the college greater visibility via their members’ website and allow them to connect the library services with more members by providing an integrated catalog search and request process. Added to this is the ability to push saved searches, RSS feeds and collections of specialized subjects, thus ensuring members and students have the most up-to-date information possible.

“Prior to implementing Soutron, COT Library staff needed to call on IT to make back end changes,” says Graham Beastall, Soutron’s Managing Director. “We knew when we designed Soutron that we had to eliminate the need for that crutch to be called upon and created an intuitive and flexible system for librarians to use that would facilitate an instant return on their investment.”
